"What makes the farmers markets such a special place is that
you're actually creating community around food"
- Bryant Terry

The Bridgeport Farmers’ Market Collaborative was established in 2014 and consists of eight independently-operated markets in Bridgeport, CT. Each market shares a common mission to increase access to healthy, local fruits and vegetables for all, regardless of income. BFMC meets on a monthly basis to undertake joint programming, fundraising, and marketing in support of member markets.

St. Vincent’s Farm Stand was started in 2009 with the support of Wholesome Wave to make healthful, locally grown food available to those in the community who need it most as well as its own employees, volunteers, and visitors. The farm stand is an example of St. Vincent’s mission of caring for the community, in particular the poor and vulnerable, and extends the services the hospital provides beyond medical treatment to providing access to healthy food and nutrition education. The farm stand is located in the Medical Center’s parking lot, easily accessible by public transportation.

This year we welcome Killam and Bassette as our farmer vendor.

The Downtown Farmers Market is managed by the Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District (DSSD) with the aim of providing downtown’s growing residential population and 8,000+ office workers access to fresh, locally grown foods and to supply a viable retail market for local farmers, food producers and artisans. The market also features live music and entertainment to attract visitors each week. Reservoir Community Farmers Market is located at Green Village Initiative’s urban farm, the first urban farm in Bridgeport. Reservoir Community Farm grows hundreds of pounds of produce, including over 50 varieties of vegetables each year. Produce is sold weekly onsite at the farm stand. (Some produce is also sold to public school cafeterias serving thousands of children each year through Bridgeport’s universal free lunch program.) Reservoir Community Farm is a center for educational school field trips, a knowledge resource hub for GVI’s school and community garden network, and hosts GVI’s Youth Leadership Program.

This year we welcome Blissful Awakening as one of the vendors to the market. This market welcomes new vendors for the 2020 season. Please call (203) 612-4107 or email info@gogvi.org for questions/inquiries.
